Kinesiotape has boomed in popularity after the summer Olympics in which athletes where wearing all kinds of brightly colored tape all over their bodies. It was invented by a Japanese Chiropractor in the 1970’s, but has really only become widely known over the last few years. The tape is an elastic sport and fitness tape that is designed for muscle, ligament, and tendon pain relief and support. The tape can be applied to any region of the body for a multitude of symptoms such as low back pain, IT Band Syndrome, muscle sprain/strains, swelling, plantar fascitis, shoulder pain, and many more! It provides 24 hour external support that stays put, no matter if you swim, shower, or work out; and it is often worn from 3 days to 7 days, depending on the application.
